TAG: Talented and Gifted
Redmond School District is committed to an educational program that recognizes, identifies and serves the unique needs of talented and gifted students. Talented and gifted students are those who have been identified as academically talented and/or intellectually gifted. It is our goal to provide appropriate instructional services to create educational opportunities for all students, including those identified as talented and gifted.
Redmond School District strives to:
- Provide an eligibility process that recognizes and identifies giftedness across student focal groups.
- Share information with parents/guardians and partners in a timely manner and through multiple modes of communication.
- Share responsibility and involvement of educators, families, and community for the academic and affective outcomes and growth of gifted learners.
- Ensure differentiation in curricula, instruction, and assessment supporting tiered programming and a continuum of services for every gifted learner.
- Provide appropriate training and support to ensure high quality standards for educators who work with gifted learners.
The Redmond School District TAG Plan 2023-2026 identifies the eligibility process for TAG identification, programming that is available to students, communication and engagement with families, professional development for staff and improvement goals.
