Redmond School District Social Media Rules of Engagement
Redmond School District’s official district or school social media pages — including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, and other district-managed accounts — are intended to inform and engage our students, families, staff, and community. We use these platforms to share important updates, celebrate achievements, highlight programs, and support our schools.
These pages are a limited public forum and are subject to moderation by Redmond School District staff. We welcome comments and dialogue and respect the right to disagree. However, all users are expected to maintain civility and respect when posting and to follow these Rules of Engagement, as well as each platform’s community standards.
Redmond School District reserves the right to remove any comment on district or school social media pages that:

Incites or promotes violence, illegal activities, alcohol or drug use, or other activities that could reasonably lead to a material and substantial disruption of school operations.

Contains abusive, profane, obscene, vulgar, or sexually explicit language or images. This includes masked words (***), acronyms, and abbreviations. Automatic filtering tools may hide comments containing profanity.

Contains harassing, threatening, or defamatory language.

Disparages any individual or group based on race, color, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, or any other protected class.

Contains sensitive or confidential personal information, including personally identifiable student or personnel information.

Advertises or promotes a commercial product or service.

Is repetitive or unrelated to the original post.

Contains spam, links to unrelated sites, chain letters, pyramid schemes, or fraudulent or deceptive messages.

Promotes or endorses political campaigns or candidates.

Infringes on copyrights or trademarks.

Violates Redmond School District policy, Oregon law, or federal law.
Redmond School District does not sponsor or endorse content posted by third-party users on district or school social media pages. The district reserves the right to restrict or ban users who repeatedly violate these Rules of Engagement.
All content published on district or school social media pages is subject to the Oregon Public Records Law.
