Overview

This is the May 2026 end-of-month report for the Redmond School District's 2024 Capital Bond Program, managed by HMK Company. The District is actively mobilizing multiple construction projects across multiple school sites.

Key Program Statistics

Financial Summary:

  • Total Bond Revenue: $110.46 million (original budget)
  • Received to Date: $107.97 million
  • Allocated to Date: $104.69 million
  • Unallocated Balance: $6.94 million

Contracts & Administration (May):

  • 4 new contracts established
  • 7 amendments processed
  • 1 change order issued
  • 34 invoices processed
  • 73% of contracts awarded to local vendors ($34.4M of $47.2M total)

Active Projects

1. Athletic Field & Turf Projects

Multiple schools receiving track and field upgrades:

  • Redmond High School & Ridgeview High School: Artificial turf + new track surface + tennis courts
  • Obsidian & Elton Gregory Middle Schools: Track surface replacement only
  • Status: Summer 2025 projects 100% complete; Summer 2026 tennis court project 5% complete (construction started 5/25/26)

2. Hugh Hartman Elementary — Roofing

  • Scope: Complete re-roof (asphalt shingles + low-slope system upgrade)
  • Status: Pre-construction; roof scans completed; material deliveries staged
  • Construction Start: 6/11/26

3. Obsidian Middle School — Modernization

  • Scope: Interior refresh, lighting upgrades, restroom remodeling
  • Status: Preconstruction phase; subcontractors onboarded; mobilization scheduled for mid-June
  • Construction Start: 6/19/26

4. Redmond High School — Major Modernization

  • Scope: CTE expansion, auditorium/performing arts updates, athletics modernization, commons, building systems (HVAC, hydronic re-piping, LED lighting, fireproofing abatement)
  • Status: GMP submitted; mobilization plan approved; temporary power installed; construction timeline: 5/15/26–8/31/27
  • Key Challenge: Coordinating extensive abatement work while school remains operational

5. Sage Elementary — Cooling Retrofit

  • Scope: Add cooling to unconditioned areas; upgrade controls
  • Status: GMP amendment submitted; long-lead mechanical items delivered; storage containers and fencing installed
  • Construction Start: 6/19/26

6. Terrebonne Community School — Cooling Retrofit

  • Scope: Add cooling; upgrade controls
  • Status: Gymnasium roof survey completed; GMP amendment submitted
  • Construction Start: 6/19/26 (exterior chiller enclosure); interior work follows

7. Tumalo Community School — Addition & Renovation

  • Scope: 4 new instructional spaces (3 classrooms + 1 science room); facility upgrades
  • Status: GMP approved and executed; permit issuance imminent; construction start: 6/15/26
  • Timeline: 5/1/26–8/15/27
