August 2025 Capital Bond Program Update
Exciting progress, Redmond families! Our 2025 Capital Bond Program continues to move forward with several projects nearing completion before the school year begins. Here's what happened in August:
Major Projects Near Completion
Athletic Fields & Tracks — Now 90% complete! All turf installation is finished at both high schools, and tracks have been resurfaced and striped at all four schools. G-MAX testing was successfully completed at Ridgeview High School to ensure safe playing surfaces. Final finishes are underway with project completion expected in early September.
Vern Patrick Elementary Roofing — Nearly complete at 98%! The new shingle roof, gutters, and flashing are installed. Final details will be wrapped up in September, ensuring our students have a safe, weather-resistant roof for the year ahead.
Ridgeview High School Cooling — Construction is 60% complete! The chiller pad has been poured and mini-split systems have been installed in critical areas. Equipment installation continues with the system expected to be operational by the end of September.
Tumalo Community School Expansion — Design Development is 30% underway. The design team completed a comprehensive cost estimate and reconciliation, bringing the project into budget alignment. Community input from stakeholder interviews has been incorporated into the design for three new classrooms and a dedicated science room.
Redmond High School Modernization — Design Development has begun! The team is moving from basic floorplans to a three-dimensional detailed design. Cost estimates are being finalized and will be compared to budget to ensure the project stays on track.
New Project Starting
Obsidian Middle School Modernization — Design work has officially begun! This project will refresh interior spaces, upgrade lighting systems, and remodel restroom facilities to create a modern, student-friendly learning environment.
