July 2025 Capital Bond Program Update

Posted Date: 03/24/26 (12:26 PM)

Great news, Redmond families! Our 2024 Capital Bond Program is moving forward at a strong pace. Here's what's happening across our schools this month:

Major Projects in Progress

Athletic Fields & Tracks — We're 70% complete! New artificial turf and track surfaces are being installed at Redmond High School, Ridgeview High School, and track resurfacing is underway at Obsidian and Elton Gregory Middle Schools. Completion is expected by early September, just in time for the school year.

Vern Patrick Elementary Roofing — Our new shingle roof is 40% complete! This durable, weather-resistant upgrade will keep our students safe and warm all year long.

Ridgeview High School Cooling — Construction begins in August! Students will stay comfortable with new air-cooled chillers and mini-split systems throughout the building.

Tumalo Community School Expansion — Exciting progress! We've completed geotechnical testing and finalized schematic designs. Three new classrooms for 6th-8th grades plus a dedicated science room are on the way.

Redmond High School Modernization — Design work continues with updates to our CTE spaces, auditorium, performing arts, athletics, and building systems. We're on track for construction to begin in May 2026.

Supporting Local Business

49% of our bond contracts have been awarded to local Central Oregon vendors and contractors—supporting our community while building our schools!
