Hello Redmond Families and Happy October!

Hispanic Heritage Month
Hispanic Heritage Month is observed nationally from September 15 to October 15 each year. Check out this video to learn more about one of our student clubs that celebrates and raises cultural awareness year round at Ridgeview High School.

ParentSquare Survey Feedback
Thank you to everyone who took time to give feedback on our ParentSquare satisfaction survey! We have been reviewing the information and have informed our schools that one thing we can improve is being mindful of how many notifications and communications are sent out from each building. We also provided what type of information is most valuable to parents, as reported in the survey.

One effort that we have made to condense our notifications is by creating a community resource page on the district website where local organizations and groups can share their events. The community page can be found here and has also been added to the links in ParentSquare. Organizations and resources featured on this page are those which are “consistent with district mission, goals, Board policies and administrative regulations; promote positive values for district students through proactive educational messages that encourage student achievement and high standards of personal conduct,” as outlined in Board Policy KJ – Commercial Advertising.

The Tumalo Ropes Course is up and running! The course was recently inspected and tested for safety. Several RSD staff members went through a 3-day training to be able to facilitate student group use. This week, the Tumalo Community School 4th grade was the first class to go through the course since it's rejuvenation. This team and confidence building course will be available for other elementary schools in the district.
