Redmond School District 2024 Capital Bond Program Update – July 2026

We're excited to share progress on our ongoing capital improvement projects! This summer has been our busiest construction season yet, with 15 projects happening simultaneously across the district.

Program Highlights

Supporting Local Economy:
  • 81% of contracts awarded to Central Oregon vendors and contractors
  • $63.4 million invested locally out of $78.4 million total awarded
  • 129 total contracts supporting our community
Current Activity:
  • 90 professional service agreements
  • 39 construction contracts
  • 56 invoices processed in July alone

Major Projects Underway

Athletic Facilities – COMPLETE

All track and turf projects at Redmond High School, Ridgeview High School, Elton Gregory Middle School, and Obsidian Middle School were completed in September 2025. Tennis court replacement at Ridgeview High School is 75% complete and on track for August completion.

School Improvements

Obsidian Middle School Modernization – 76% Complete
  • New LED lighting (911 fixtures)
  • Polished concrete floors
  • Restroom renovations
  • Ceiling tile replacement
  • Target completion: Late August
Redmond High School Modernization – 10% Complete
  • CTE space expansion
  • Auditorium and performing arts upgrades
  • Athletics facility improvements
  • Building systems modernization
  • Special note: Due to fireproofing challenges, we're installing a temporary modular village to house classrooms while construction continues. This allows us to accelerate work and minimize disruption.
Tumalo Community School Addition – 11% Complete
  • Four new classrooms (grades 6-8 plus dedicated science room)
  • Cafeteria and kitchen expansion
  • Foundation work underway
  • Classroom renovations on schedule for fall occupancy

Cooling System Upgrades

  • Sage Elementary – 60% complete
  • Terrebonne Community School – 50% complete
Both projects will provide cooling to previously unconditioned areas and upgrade building controls.

Roofing Projects

  • Hugh Hartman Elementary – 50% complete, new asphalt shingles and roof coating installation underway

What's Next

August will see intensive finish work across all summer projects as we prepare schools for student return. Our teams are working diligently to ensure renovated spaces are ready while maintaining safe, organized campuses.
